Join the Omaha Fitness Scene with These Fun, Local Events

Fitness is a journey, and like most journeys, the trip is a whole lot better when you have a partner, a friend, a supporter. According to Health Day, “Men and women who want to stop smoking, get active and lose weight are much more likely to meet with success if their partner also adopts the same healthy habits, according to new research.”

A great way to optimize this effect is to join your local fitness community, and we happen to have a great fitness community in Omaha. Find a buddy or add to your existing fitness clique with these fun Omaha fitness scene events.

Taco Ride -So technically it’s in Iowa, but tons of Omaha folks meet every Thursday for this massive, weekly bike ride on the Wabash Trail. The majority of riders begin at the trailhead on the South side of Council Bluffs near Lewis Central School. The ride is a total of about 20 miles; 10 miles to Tobey Jack’s Steak House in Mineola, Iowa, and then 10 miles back. The ride is a blast with a lot of fun loving fitness folks. As a warning, many riders imbibe, so always wear your helmet, bring a light and pay attention on the trail. See you there!
