Health Nut Aldi Fans, This One’s for You

Aldi burst into our lives several years ago and we’re just not sure how we managed before that. Aldi has climbed to the top of “favorites lists” in just about every category a supermarket can be in. Most Aldi fans are crazy about the prices, products, and simplicity. However, the simplicity of their offerings can deter some people.

As a customer walking into an Aldi store for the first time, you might be skeptical about whether or not this store can deliver everything you need, especially for people with more particular diet needs, or those who focus on good nutrition. The Aldi fans at Pinnacle have shared some of their favorite Aldi offerings and features.

Organic & Local

Unless you’ve been there, you would probably never guess that Aldi offers a large line of organic produce at a price point that you won’t believe. Buying organic at major supermarkets can sometimes double the price. Aldi also teams up with local farms to help you get the freshest local produce at low prices. Look for the “Locally Grown” logo to find fresh fruits and vegetables grown on a farm right here in Nebraska.

Fit & Active

Fit & Active is Aldi’s very own “healthy living” brand. The line is quite extensive ranging from beverages to pantry items, desserts, meal replacements, and more. Like your name brands? You might be pleasantly surprised when you run a comparison, especially on the price. Aldi’s sister company is Trader Joe’s, so many of the products you know and love are also on the Aldi shelves with different packaging and branding.

No “Extras”

Another line we’re obsessed with over at Aldi is called Never Any! This line focuses on the ethical treatment of animals as well as offering meat products free from antibiotics, hormones, steroids, and more. They offer simpler meats and meat products that you can feel good about buying.

Gluten Free?

If you’re gluten free, Aldi has you covered with yet another line called LiveGFree. This large line of delicious gluten free foods ensures those living gluten free don’t have to go without and they don’t have to spend a fortune to maintain a diet that keeps them healthy.

Livin’ that High Protein Life

Elevation is the line for you! Elevation offers meal replacement bars, snack bars, and protein powders that are getting rave reviews from fitness folks all over the internet. Insider Tip: Their Mint Chocolate Protein Bars taste like Girl Scout cookies…no joke!

Vegetarian or Vegan Options

Earth Grown is a smaller, vegetarian line that offers several great options, again, at much lower prices than other stores. Here is the Earth Grown promise from Aldi’s site:

All our Earth Grown products are free from animal products, including meat, poultry and seafood, and our vegan items are also free from substances produced by animals – such as eggs, dairy, honey, gelatin and lanolin.

These are just the larger lines that Aldi offers. Don’t let the wooden pallets and bring-your-own bags policy fool you. They have the ghee, flaxseed, and protein-rich foods that the nuttiest of health nuts would approve of. Check out weekly specials with their app and get ready for online delivery, rumored to come to Omaha soon!
