Happy Festivus! Here are Your Festivus Feats of Strength

Are you a participant in Pinnacle Fitness Club’s Maintain, Don’t Gain Challenge? If you are, good for you! Keep on maintaining! If you aren’t, we urge you to step on the scale for your own maintain, don’t gain challenge. It’s easy, just weigh yourself now and then again on New Year’s Day. The goal is to simply maintain your weight and not gain any over the holidays.

While we’re all focused on keeping our weight in check this holiday season, there’s an important holiday to recognize that can help support our efforts- Festivus! If you’re familiar with Festivus, a big element of this holiday for “the rest of us” is the Feats of Strength. We thought it would be fun to come up with some Pinnacle Feats of Strength to help you get through this calorie-laden season un-plumped.

Try a Pinnacle Class You’ve Never Tried Before

Plateaus in fitness and weight loss can very often be attributed to a stagnant routine. If you’re a gym rat, you know just how hard it is to make room for a workout on a consistent basis. Don’t waste that time with the same old routine, optimize it by taking a chance on another class or type of workout. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to go again. However, you could love it, and now you’ve broadened the path on your fitness journey.

Take a Hike

We’re currently in a winter sweet spot. We just experienced some sub-zero temps and there are more on the horizon but right now humans can actually go outside! Take advantage of this 30-40 degree range and get out there. Take a hike, toss around a football, or go for a bike ride. Just be sure to dress appropriately.

Bring a Friend and Air Your Grievances

If you’re familiar with the tradition of Festivus, you know just how important the airing of grievances is. Exercise is a natural stress reliever and it’s been known to have calming effects on the mind and body. Work out the stress of the holidays with a partner. You can either get a day pass or come on Free Friend Friday.

Sign the Resolution Wall

We hope you’ve noticed our resolution wall on your way in and out. It’s filling up quickly with little promises you’ve all made to yourselves and each other. The trainers have been really inspired to read them and are excited to start helping you achieve your goals in 2017.
