Fresh Air Workouts for Spring in Omaha

Remember a month ago when it was -15°? A month ago! Now we’re seeing temps in the 40s-70s. Needless to say, spring has sprung! We all went through a pretty harsh winter, but now it’s time to get back outside. Get some sun, fresh air, and join your Omaha fitness community again in the outdoors.

PFC Run Club

This club is for runners of all levels. We will run outside unless the weather is extreme. The Wednesday run will be shorter and speed focused (if desired), and the Sunday run will be longer and endurance focused. Walk/Runners are also welcome to join the club! We meet Sundays at 8am and Wednesdays at 6:45pm.

Heartland Bcycle

Have you seen these solar powered stations popping up all over town? They are expanding and now Heartland Bcycle has stations at all of your favorite Omaha hangouts. Even if you have your own bike, using these stations allows you to be a little more spontaneous with your ride since you can explore new parts of the city without loading and unloading your bike. Just drop off and pick up at any one of the dozens of locations. And right now, you can get a month of rides free!

Indian Cave State Park

With over 22 miles of scenic hiking, Indian Cave is a great place for an extended weekend workout adventure. Bike trails and camping are also on the menu at this big, gorgeous park. A little over an hour outside of Omaha, this place is worth the visit before it gets too hot to really enjoy.

Aksarben Village Walks/Runs

There are already three walk/runs on the Aksarben Village events calendar for the month ahead including the Omahalf. Join your community in the fight against cancer and Parkinson’s while participating in a fun, local walk/run.

Thursday Night Taco Ride

The Taco Ride kicks off every Thursday after work on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, from Council Bluffs to Mineola and back. This 20 mile ride is a scenic trek through the Loess Hills ending with dinner at the Mineola Steakhouse. The Taco Ride is a social event filled with cycling, scenery and a festive, party atmosphere.

Do you have some favorite springtime workout places or routines? Your PFC fam wants to hear about them and maybe even join in! Share your ideas and fitness adventures on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. See you around The Club!

*Friendly Reminder*

Now that nicer weather and sunnier, longer days are ahead of us, the Pinnacle Fitness Club will be closing at 10:00pm Mon-Thurs and at 9:00pm on Fridays. Additionally, the club entrance doors will be locked 30 minutes prior to closing times, so please plan your arrival and workout completion times accordingly. Thank you!
