Add a Fun Workout to Your Week

We know you workout on the reg, but are you having fun, or just getting through it? Did you used to enjoy soccer, or swimming, or working out with a friend? Try to infuse your stale workout with a little fun next year.

Drink More Water

So this is something we harp on. Drinking more water is essential to a healthy lifestyle and it’s one of the easiest, most effective ways to improve your health on a daily basis. According to WebMD, “You should try to drink between half an ounce and an ounce of water for each pound you weigh, everyday.” For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, that would be 75 to 150 ounces of water a day.”

Try a New Activity

You know how your parents would say, “How do you know you don’t like it if you never try it?” Well, I mean…how do you? There are so many ways to have fun and get a good workout in. In fact, maybe there will be some roller blades under the tree this year, eh?

Getting friends and family involved in your fitness routine is great on so many levels. Firstly, you’re investing in their health and longevity. Secondly, you’re spending quality time in a meaningful way. And lastly, your workout will be fun and fly by!

Take Stock of Your Down Time

We’re doing a lot more sitting around these days. Whether it’s at a desk job, or sitting in front of the tv, many of us have a pretty stagnant lifestyle. So, take stock of your down time and see where you can fit some activity in. Consider a standing or bicycle desk, walking meetings, or planned activities during commercials. Get creative with your options.

Create a Tangible Fitness Goal to Look Back on in 2019

You can do pounds lost, personal bests, number of miles walked/run/cycled. Whatever you do, make it tangible and make it reasonable. Remember, unrealistic goals don’t really work.

Do a Kitchen Cleanse

Toss it! Okay, actually don’t toss it, donate it. But get that junk food out of there. Make your kitchen an array of healthy options and a excuse-free zone. We are all very aware that no one ever ate just 11 chips and salsa.
