25 May Happy Recommitment Month
Recommitment month can mean a lot of different things to each of us. You can recommit to your family, your religion, your professional goals, or any number of different things. Whatever you have decided to recommit to this month, we certainly hope you keep room for health and fitness. Good health is at the core of your ability to give your all to the many other aspects of your life. So, if you’ve been slipping lately, spending more time on the couch, and always reaching for the car keys instead of your helmet, it might be time to recommit to your health and fitness journey.
Making Better Choices Each Day
Every day we’re faced with dozens of choices about how we treat our mind and body. Are you choosing to watch one more show, or get extra sleep? Are you choosing the gas station breakfast burrito, or a healthier option to start your day? Will you make time for the gym today? We’re constantly making many small choices that ultimately determine our state of wellbeing.
Even if you start with the simple goal of making one smarter choice each day, it will add up. Not only that, but it will make all of the other choices easier. Things as easy as committing to drinking eight glasses of water, swapping out chips for fruit, or parking far from your destination and walking. What will your better choice be today?
Trying New, Active Things
When workouts get stale, they become unappealing. If what you once considered your routine has now become a complete drag, it’s time to switch it up! Try a different class at Pinnacle, join one of the many outdoor community activities we have going on around Omaha, or crowd source some fun activities with your friends and family on social media. There is always something new and exciting to discover in Omaha.
Experimenting with Different, Healthy Foods
Just like a workout routine can get stale, the same old diet can knock you right off track. Like, you may have started off using hot sauce to jazz up your chicken breast, but now there’s a pizza under it. Branch out with new recipes, new veggies and proteins you’ve never experimented with before. No time? Instead of going grocery shopping, order your groceries online and use the time you would have spent at the store on meal prep.
Revisit Your Goals
Are you still on track? Were your original goals realistic? Revisit your goals, where you are now, and where you’d like to be in a specific timeframe. Throwback to this Pinnacle blog about setting S.M.A.R.T. goals.
